  Ever wondered about Colossians 1:23?

  colossians 1:23b claims that by the time of writing, the good news had been preached, "to every creature ( "all creation" - nwt ) which is under heaven.

  " had the good news really been preached in 'all creation under heaven' when colossians was written?

  was this statement inspired by an all-knowing god or does it just reflect reflect the ignorance of the time, as to the size of the world?

  I know of one black CO who use to say that the ethiopian eunich took the good news to africa. But this scripture is tha main reason I never believed in the whole 144000 thing. If the message went out into all the earth during the first century you would think that there would have been more than 144000 christians back then.

  you had 3000 added on pentacost alone. As the WT$ loves to track numbers and trends, If the Christian cong back then continued to grow at that rate of 3000 on a yearly bases in a mere 48 years (before the end of the first century) you would have 144000.

  hi there, i was just thinking about the whole thing.

  when your are raised as a jw you cant have girlfriend or boyfriend and you must "feel that the other are superior than you", you must be very humble.

  Who will be resurrected according to the WTS?

  i was wondering what the wts's stand is on who will be resurrected into the "new system".

  because of the assertion that people have been "freed from sin" upon their death, shouldn't just about all people who ever lived deserve a resurrection?.

  the only ones who won't be resurrected, according to the wts, are those who commit the unforgiveable sin:*** g75 10/22 p. 12 how can you benefit from this hope?

  I use to love to debate this subject. Witlesses unlike there crhistendom counterparts always put everyone who died into the resurection. Think about our main topic to grab peoples interests 'you can see your dead love ones again." never mind the fact you grandfather may have been an axe murderer you can see him again if you let me study with you for one hour a week and attend our meetings. I even remember one idiot actully belived that hitler would be resurected the qualifier being he died before armegedon. But yet in still while the R&F believe that almost anyone can come back, the WTS keeps there cards and true beliefs close to the vest by being vague about what "sin" may mean.

  as a witness you had a crew you ran with and did things with.

As a witness you had a crew you ran with and did things with. now you must replace them and you think I dont want to make new friends. I liken this to the episode of seinfield where this guy tried to join into jerry's crew and jerry was like I have three friends i'm not taking any more applications. think about what you use to do with 'the friend's' and find new ones. Go to museums join groups and clubs. If you like to play cards, say 'bridge' join a bridge club and start taking applications again for new friends. find a hobby something unique that interest you and talk and interact with others who share that interest.

  Pre Armageddon Preparation.

  are there jws who prepare for the tribulations they assume are around the corner?

  when i visted the us once in 1999 i met a few guys who were expecting a global meltdown due to the millenium bug.. as a consequence they had generators, guns, ammo, tins of food, bottled water, fuel, all kinds of stuff to help them through a civil disorder situation.

  does anyone know or remember any jws who have prepared like this?

  my sister used to have a list of capable witlesses who would be good to have around after everybody else was killed. And by capable people I mean people with skill's and woodsman like knowledge. According to her you did not want to be stranded after arm'o with a bunch of idiots who couldn't start a fire or find the necesary resources to survive. I guess until the angels came.

  I find that thought provoking since unwittingly i've taken to collecting chessboards. My first is a nice marble set I got in mexicothe most recent is one that Has shot glasses as the chessmen, when you take a peice you take a shot. The problem as you stated is having a worthy opponent to play with. I now find I play with one peice and keep taking it over and over.

  on todays episode they disscused the life of jacob entitled 'jacobs ladder'.

  I am refering to the T.V. show that comes on the Biography channel. On todays episode they disscused The life of jacob Entitled 'jacobs ladder'. In this episode one of the scholars was breaking down Jacobs relationship with god and his family. He pointed out how jacob tricked his brother out of his birth right and then lied to decieve his father. And after he had the vision of the ladder to heaven, put conditions on God that had to be fulfilled before he served god (gen 28:20,21). The scholar then made the point that back then if you look at the interactions of man with God, man was questioning and testing God. Examples he gave Jacob fighting with the angel for the blessing. I thought about abraham questioning god about destroying sodom and gomora. I was just wandering do any of you, now that the WTS doesn't tell you how to interpret the bible have new or different views on various bible stories.
